Social media has become an indispensable tool for companies to generate sales, increase brand awareness and build communities around their brand.
This is not a suprise that HR is going on through is to, but what does that mean in term of figures ? And how to be the best social recruiter of the web ?

Today recruiters can leverage social media to post jobs and recruit talents but it’s still new for most of the organizations.
That’s why you have to come on it as soon as possible and established your brand as a powerfull social recruiter company.
That’s also why there are a lot of mistakes to avoid and this article is made to help you to success !

First and to understand that we are really in a big deal let me present you the figures of social media recruiting all around the world :
94 % of recruiters use or plan to use social media in their recruitement effort as 78 %.
93% of recruiters already browse linkedin to find new candidates, talk to them and keep an eye on them throughout the hiring process.
To represent a business Facebook continues to lead with 65% followed by twitter with 47%.
To assess candidates after the interview, 25% of the recruiters said they use Facebook and 18% Twitter.
42% of participants changed their decisions on potential candidates based content on social networks.
Here are the 5 commandments to follow to become a top performer in social media recruiting.

1 – Create a branded company profile

In 2014 a Facebook Page is not enough anymore to represent a brand and his value.
If you already possess a Facebook page skip those 2 line, if not create one right now.
Don’t forget to create a Twitter account, a Linkedin company profile, a Youtube channel and if you are into gaming (Next gen tools) a winning facebook page.

All those page should have the same goal : recruiting talents.

2- Separate contents

If your company had already a Facebook page or a Twitter account to communicate with your customers and followers, create a New one for the job offers.

Ex : @Bananacompany for the branding and @bananajobs for the job offers. This way your content will not be lost between two commercial post or a product discussion.

Use your brand page to promote your jobs’ one. This way your message will reach the people with interest in promoting your job offers. They will be more likely to share those and apply.

3- Link all your social media recruitment page

As for your business page you job pages must have a single and simple message and must be related to each other.
Your youtube channel must have presentation videos of your company : Inside your company. Short video should present the jobs you are looking to fill in the next months. The videos have to be short to arouse curiosity and the desire to learn more about the jobs. This way candidates or likers will look for more informations on your others social media pages and on your carreer website.

4- Promote your social media pages on your carreer website

As said, all your social media pages have to be related to each others but all of those have also to be linked with your carreer website. A tweet is only 140 characters, not enough to describe all the qualities you are looking for or what is hiding behind a job title (position, salary, and all the legal informations a job offers might contains). That’s why your carreer website must be updated as the same time your post a new job offers on social media.

5 – Promote your job offers as well as you do with your product

This is not depending of the kind of jobs you are trying to fill, easy ones or really hard positions have to be promote the same way. You are trying to hire talents, even if there are a lot of candidates outside waiting to work for you company, there are only few special talents. So spread the word, make every posts count.
Promote your job offers as you would do with a product you are selling. Ask the marketing and communication district in order to design a job offer which explain what the job is but also attract the candidate. Or, at least, give envy to others to share this job offer on Social media by retweet, Facebook post, +1 on google +

With this top 5 hints on social media recruitment you should be able to attract new talent pool as the same time you are improving your brand image and communication on the informal internet.
